Aquascapes Managing Director, Sean Connelly, appointed as a design consultant for the construction of a new 215ft infinity pool at the millionaire’s playground of Porto Montenegro. The pool is built over what was once a dry dock and suspended out over the Adriatic Sea.
Aquascapes were selected as part of a British led design team reporting to Mace construction as the main contractor. We liaised & consulted with the appointed engineers and architects to make sure the aesthetic look they were trying to achieve blended seamlessly with the functionality required to run a pool of this nature.
Initially we were appointed as pool consultant to provide a full design spec and drawings for the pool. We were also consulted on the filtration systems, hydraulic services, heating and chemical dosing plant.
However, our involvement soon developed into a full project management & supervisory role. This became a fast track project due to one of the main investors choosing the launch of the venue to mark with his 40th birthday.
This project is one of the most impressive and largest pools to be built in Europe. The pool is larger than one used for the Olympics and it retains over 1000 tonne of water. It has achieved National press coverage in both the tabloid and broadsheets.
